Tissington and Manifold combined
This is a very pleasant ride of about 32 miles which you can do comfortably in an afternoon. I have started at the Tissington Trail car park in Ashbourne to give an easy return down the trail to your vehicle. There is one farm gate to be opened at Throwley Hall, but we manged that with no assistance. I can't remember any places you could stop for refreshents until you reach a tea shop at Wetton Mill on the Manifold Trail but we probably passed a few pubs which didn't register. The disabled toilet at the visitor centre at the end of the Manifold Trail is big - large enough to get most handcycles in and the door shut. There is a shop and pub in Hulme End not far from the visitor centre and in Hartington there are a few pubs and tea shops. The food at the Charles Cotton Hotel is freshly prepared and very good but a little pricey. There are also three or four places on the Tissington Trail that sell tea, sandwiches and cake but they all close about 5:30.
